Sadly, Phyllis L. DeMarco (nee Capoferri) of Hammonton, NJ, was taken from us at the age of 87 by COVID-19 on April 18, 2020. She died peacefully at the AtlantiCare Mainland Regional Medical Center in Galloway Township, NJ. She was born Filomena Lilian Capoferri on May 22, 1932 in Elm, NJ, where she grew up on the family farm with her seven siblings and parents, John and Antoinette Capoferri. Phyllis graduated from Lower Camden County Regional High School, Lindenwold, NJ in 1951, and was a hard worker throughout her life. From the farm, to Gimbels department store, to various Hammonton clothing manufacturers, she was always in motion. When at work she always relished her corner workbench near the restrooms, because coworkers would stop by on their way to chat. In fact, she met her husband, Anthony in this way. She took pride in her work and enjoyed landscaping and maintaining her home on Lakeview Drive in Hammonton, where she lived with her family since 1962. Phyllis also enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with others. She is fondly remembered for her chicken-cutlets, Thanksgiving dinners (lasagna as an appetizer and the world's best stuffing), and her pot of "gravy" with meatballs on the stove every Sunday morning. Phyllis delighted in spending time with her family, especially her son John with whom she lived. Her family will remember her ending each encounter with "Love you more." In later years, Phyllis looked forward to her semi-annual high school reunion luncheons where her fellow classmates reminisced about dances, her sewing club skills and catch phrase, "Wait a while". Phyllis was predeceased by her Husband Anthony F. DeMarco, her parents and her seven siblings, Tony, Joseph, and Vincent Capoferri, Rosie Csiack, Olympia Bonano, Carmella James, and Louise Catona. Phyllis will be missed by her son Anthony A DeMarco and his wife Sheila McKee DeMarco of Delray Beach FL, son John A DeMarco of Hammonton, NJ, and granddaughter Danielle DeMarco Neufeld, her husband Gregory H Neufeld, as well as great-grandchildren Hunter R Neufeld and Jade R Neufeld of New York, NY. Funeral services and burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phyllis' name to Victory Bible Church P.O. Box 833 Hammonton, NJ 08037.
