Nicholas F. "Beetle" Barbagallo

Nicholas F. "Beetle" Barbagallo, Jr. age 75 of Waterford, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday September 18, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, NJ.

Nicky was born and raised in Hammonton, NJ and graduated from Hammonton High School in 1967 where he was a linebacker for the football team. He worked for Winslow Twp. Public Works as a Heavy Equipment Operator for over 30 years. Nicky truly loved the outdoors. Whether it was getting up at 3am to deer hunt, or running his beagles to hunt rabbit, he couldn't wait to sit in his blind during the fall months. He was a member of the South Jersey Beagle Club for many years where he ran his dogs with many friends. He loved playing softball back in the day, going to breakfast with his buddies, lounging in the pole barn on football Sundays, and spending quality time with his family.

Predeceased by his parents Nicholas F. Barbagallo, Sr. and Mary (nee Giordano).

He is survived by his loving wife Lucia R. Barbagallo (nee Iuliucci), his daughter Darnel DePalma (Jay) and Stepdaughter Rachel Cicchino and her husband Chris, his brother Samuel Barbagallo (the late Audrey) and his sister Virginia Merrifield. He will be sadly missed by his two grandsons, James Gorman III, Robert Gorman, and his only granddaughter, Regina Mangano (Joe). He will also be missed by his nephews, Brian Merrifield and Samuel Barbagallo.

He touched the lives of so many people. Wherever he went, he always made a friend. He was known to light up a room. His boisterous laugh, his funny jokes, and his presence will be missed by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday September 25, 2025 from 9:00-11:00am at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third Street Hammonton, NJ. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery 500 N. White Horse Pike Hammonton, NJ 08037.
