Marietta M. Berenato (nee Giancarlo) age 87 of Hammonton, NJ passed away Monday September 7, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born in Trenton, NJ and has been married to Samuel Berenato for over 50 years. Marietta loved traveling, helping people, cooking, and entertaining at her home.

She is predeceased by her parents Angelo and Mary Giancarlo, brothers Angelo and his wife Rosie and Vincent and his wife Claire, children, Anthony Cianfrano, and Shirley Christopher, and her grandson Robert Christopher III. Marietta is survived by her husband Samuel Berenato, their children, Judy Peterson (Steven) and Barbara Ruberton (Robert). Loving grandmother to Stephanie Pelletier (Jason), Brandon Schefer, Michael Christopher (Lorie), Matthew Ruberton (Kim), and Julie Berg (Ian). Great Grandmother of 13. The family is so grateful to all of her caregivers and Compassionate Care Hospice.

Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday September 14, 2026 from 9:00-10:30am at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third St. Hammonton, NJ 08037. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish St. Joseph Church corner of French and Third St. Hammonton, NJ 08037. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery 124 S. First Rd. Hammonton, NJ 08037.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marietta's name to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
