Obituary

Linda Mitros, née Starrett, age 57, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, in Collings Lakes, New Jersey. Born on February 17, 1968, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Linda brought warmth and joy to all who knew her throughout her life. A proud graduate of John W. Hallahan High School's Class of 1986 in Philadelphia, PA. Linda carried the values of compassion and dedication into every aspect of her life. She worked for many years at the Medical College of Pennsylvania Hospital, where she met her future husband, Anthony Mitros.

Linda is lovingly remembered by her husband, Anthony Mitros; their son, Anthony Mitros; daughter, Alyssa Mitros (Anthony); and cherished grandson Anthony Mitros (AJ). Her devotion to family extended far beyond her immediate household. She was a beloved sister to James W. Starrett; Patricia Gardner (Richard); Anne Marie Starrett; Donna Starrett; Suzanne Starrett; and Barbara Singer (Steve).

Also remembered by her sisters-in-law Caroline, Kathy (Nuno), and Belinda. Her many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles all held a special place in her heart.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, William C. Starrett and Ann Starrett (née Brown).

Linda's spirit was defined by positivity and selflessness. She had an innate ability to care for everyone around her-always putting others before herself and ensuring that every detail in the lives of those she loved was tended to with care.

Linda found peace in gardening and joy in days spent at Brigantine Beach with family and friends. A lover of word puzzles, she especially delighted in the New York Times Spelling Bee-achieving Queen Bee status dozens of times with pride. Her enthusiasm for Philadelphia sports ran deep-especially for the Eagles-whom she cheered for with unwavering devotion.

Family and friends are invited to her visitation Monday, January 12, 2026 from 10:00-11:00am with funeral services to follow all at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N Third St. Hammonton, NJ 08037.

In remembrance of Linda's vibrant spirit and enduring love for those around her, we share these words from Emily Dickinson:

"Because I could not stop for Death

He kindly stopped for me

The carriage held but just ourselves

And Immortality.

We slowly drove-He knew no haste

And I put away

My labor and my leisure too

For His civility..."

May Linda's memory continue to bring comfort and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
