Karen A. Mauriello

Oh Karen A. Mauriello (nee Barrett) age 68 of Hammonton, NJ peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday May 1, 2025.

She is predeceased by her parents William and Dorothy Barrett (nee Purul). Karen is survived by her loving husband, Anthony L. Mauriello, brother, William Barrett and his late wife Joyce of South Phila. PA., and her sister Jane Romsteadt and her late husband Fred of West Berlin, NJ. She is also survived by her in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be sadly missed by her family.

Karen was born in Phila, PA., grew up in the Cramer Hill section of Camden and she graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1974.

Over the years Karen worked for Smith Austrimile Insurance Agency, also in the payroll division of the City of Camden Fire Department, the Winslow Township Police Records Department and Karen was a School Bus Driver for Winslow Township Board of Education for 27 years before she retired.

Karen really loved the shore and with her husband, Anthony, she really enjoyed spending time in Wildwood on their houseboat. She also enjoyed music, singing karaoke, dancing and of course shopping. She would always say, " do you think my sister (or my niece) would like this? Or maybe this?" She always loved to shop and buy things for her family. She always made care packages for everyone that ranged from candy and clothes when the kids were young to dish soap and shampoo as when they became adults. She loved her family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Tuesday May 6, 2025 from 9:00 -10:45am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish-St. Joseph Church Third & French Streets Hammonton, a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11am. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery Berlin, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Karen's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
