John L. Inferrera, age 73, of Hammonton, NJ, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
John was a lifelong Hammonton resident and graduated from Hammonton High School in 1970. John followed in his father's footsteps as a butcher in the family business, Inferrera's Market. He was a fixture behind the deli counter at the Store for over 40 years, always talking to customers about sports and handing out slices of cheese to kids. Most of all, John was proud of the family's sausage recipe.
When he was not working at the store, John enjoyed sitting on his porch on East Pleasant Street and talking with passersby. John was an avid collector of antique bottles, baseball cards and local postcards. Some of his favorite family memories include the annual bottle show at Batsto. John was also a diehard Philadelphia Phillies fan who would never bet against his team.
John is survived by his daughter Jamie Inferrera (Adam Spithaler). John had such love and affection for his grandson, Tucker Spithaler (aka "the little bolognese"), who just started calling him "Pop Pop." John is also survived by his siblings Anthony Inferrera and Dorothy Orlandini, his companion, Lynn Conway, and "his person," Linda Goff.
He is predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Dorothy (nee Noto) Inferrera.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and Friday, January 9, 2026 from 10:00-11:00 am at Marinella Funeral Home, 102 N.
