John M. Barrett, Jr.

John M. Barrett, Jr. age 61, of Hammonton, NJ passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday October 12, 2025.

He was born in Atlantic City, NJ and grew up in Ocean City, NJ, graduating from Ocean City High School in 1982.

John was part owner of Barrett Asphalt, Arawak Paving, JSM LLC and JJSM LLC. He was a proud member of Local 825 International Union of Operating Engineers and enjoyed his time working for APS. He served as Second Lieutenant of the Weymouth Volunteer Fire Company for many years.

Surviving is his loving wife Cynthia Barrett (nee Marsch) and his three sons: John III and his wife Laura, Michael and his wife Christy, and Scott and his wife Stephanie. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Anthony, Gabrielle, John IV "L J", Taylor, Kenny, Sabrina, Kelsey and Roman. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Catherine Marsch, in laws, Kathy Donoflio, Susan and George Husta, Al and Karen Marsch and Pauline Liepe, his special friends John Carrigan and Marlene Vaniman, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his mother, Dale Barrett, father-in-law, Albert Marsch and brother-in-law, Bill Donoflio.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday October 16, 2025, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm and Friday October 17, from 9:30am - 10:30am at the Marinella Funeral Home. 102 N. Third Street Hammonton, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11:00am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish - St. Joseph Church Third and French Streets. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 248 S. First Rd. Hammonton, NJ 08037.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's name to the American Cancer Society.
