Catherina LaTorre, age 93, of Hammonton, NJ passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday, January 18th, 2026. She was born on January 2nd, 1933. Catherina was a loving Italian grandmother whose life was centered around her family. Born in Calabria, Italy, she carried her traditions, values, and deep love for family with her throughout her life. In 1968, she immigrated to the United States in hopes of giving her children a better life, a decision rooted in sacrifice, strength, and unconditional love.
She had a true gift for caring for others, always making sure her family was fed and well taken care of. Cooking was one of her greatest joys, and her kitchen was often the heart of the home. She also loved gardening, spending time outdoors, and visiting with her girlfriends, cherishing laughter and connection.
She worked as a seamstress for many years at Kessler Clothing. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and took immense pride in her grandchildren, whose lives she filled with love, warmth, and unforgettable memories.
Catherina is predeceased by her loving husband Sergio LaTorre, her granddaughter Catherine Campanella, and son-in-law David Campanella. She is survived by her children, Anthony LaTorre (Cathy), Joseph LaTorre (Linda), Antoinette "Toni" Campanella (nee LaTorre) (David), and Domenick LaTorre (Lina). Loving grandmother of Jennifer Laning (John), Sergio "Ryan" LaTorre (Katie), Christine Green (David), Jessica LaTorre, and Lauren Campanella (Jay). Great-grandmother of Mary, John Milton, Hannah, and Benjamin.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing and mass on Tuesday, January 27th at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, St. Joseph Church, Third and French St., Hammonton, NJ 08037.
