Obituary

Barbara Ann Passerello (nee Wolfe) age 87 of Collings Lakes, NJ passed away Thursday February 19, 2026. She was born in Philipsburg, NJ, raised in Hampton, NJ, she lived in Collings Lakes for 41 years, and then with her daughters for the last 5 years.

Known for her kind and peaceful nature, Barbara was an amazing mom of 6 children. While raising her children, she was the organist at St. Ann's Catholic Church. She also owned and operated Passerello's Towne & Country Pizzeria & Bakery with her husband. As a cafeteria worker at St. Joseph's School, she would often serve up extra helpings to the student athletes.

She was later employed by the state of New Jersey as a medical assistant at UMDNJ Family Medicine in Williamstown where her caring nature was greatly valued by patients and colleagues. The office girls were best friends, and she respected the amazing doctors she worked with. Dr. George Scott became her primary physician, and God later assigned Dr. John Bertinoli as her hospice physician.

These last few years she became a voracious reader, Wordle aficionado, and Words With Friends wizard. Literally a Philly Phanatic, she hung on every pitch and always knew who was playing and what time the game was starting.

Her laughter and kind-hearted spirit will be deeply missed but forever engraved in the memories of those she met. Barbara's life exemplified that of a Christian. She had unwavering faith, was a selfless servant, gave unconditional love, and had the patience of a saint. Barbara made it through every challenging time by praying daily and focusing on Padre Pio's motto, "Pray, Hope, and Don't Worry." She was a Catholic Daughter at her beloved parish Our Lady of the Lakes and enjoyed years of fun activities with her cherished church family.

She is predeceased by her loving husband Thomas A. Passerello, Jr., daughter Cynthia D. Riehl, son Michael Passerello, grandson Joshua Riehl, Barbara's parents Arthur and Nellie Wolfe, her sibling Paul Wolfe, sister-in-law Carol Balik and her husband Steve, and her nephew Michael Biel.

Barbara was the heart of her family and is survived by her sons Thomas A. Passerello, III (Dana) and Jeffrey Passerello (Kathy), her daughters Niki Collins (Mark) and Gena Amechi (Mark) and daughter-in-law Denise Passerello, her siblings Theresa Biel, Stella Becton, brother in law Artie (Dolores) Passerello and sister in law Betty Shew. She is the loving grandmother of Jay, Tommy, Megan, Rachel, Jackie, Jeffrey, Nolan, Hope, Julia, Daniel, Nicholas, and Matthew. She is also the great-grandmother of Arcana.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Saturday February 28th from 9:00 am - 10:45 am at Our Lady of the Lakes Church 19 Malaga Rd, Collings Lakes, NJ. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. The burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 124 S. First Rd. Hammonton, NJ.

Donations may be made in Barbara's memory to the Catholic Daughters of Our Lady of the Lakes 19 Malaga Rd, Collings Lakes, NJ 08094.
