Antoinette "Toni" Marinelli, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, beloved family member, and proud business owner, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 19, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born in Ancora, NJ, Toni graduated from Lower Camden County Regional High School in 1955. She later settled in Hammonton, where she built a beautiful life with her husband of 67 years, Edward Marinelli. Toni worked at the Elm dress shop right out of high school and was a school bus driver while her children were young for the Hammonton Public Schools. She was best known as the heart behind Toni's Custard, a successful local seasonal family operated restaurant that served the community and transit customers for over 30 years. In the off season, Toni and Ed enjoyed spending their winters in Vero Beach, FL. Giving back to the church was something that Toni graciously did by preparing food for the St. Joseph's food concession stand for over ten years during the week of July 16th for the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Festival in Hammonton.
She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Marinelli, her two daughters, Suzanne Marinelli-Tichy (Fred) and Maria Marinelli, and her three sisters, Roseann Lucca, Cookie Maccarella (John) and Madelyn Castone (Anthony), Cheryl Bruno as she loved as a daughter. Toni is the loving grandmother of Ashley Peterson (Laurence), Jeffrey LeFevre (Brianna McKee), Gabriella Brigandi (Greg Laute), Kristen Bruno (Ross Adamucci), Brianna Tichy, and Tessa Meinke (Doug), as well as her great-grandchildren, Laurence Peterson, J.D. Duba, and Walter Meinke. She will be sadly missed by many extended family members and friends.
Toni is predeceased by her beloved son, Edward Marinelli Jr., her parents John B. and Pauline (nee Parzanese) DiMeglio, brother and sister in law John and Tootie DiMeglio, sister and brother in law Frances and Thomas Penza, and brother in law Joseph Lucca.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home, 102 N. Third Street, Hammonton, NJ.
