Obituary

Anthony J. "Tony/Junior" Puleo, age 92 of Hammonton, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 with his daughter Lisa by his side.

He was born and raised in Hammonton where he graduated from Hammonton High School in 1951 and assisted his father on the farm. Tony went on to serve in the National Guard.

Tony worked at Raynor Door Co., the Hammonton Post Office for several years and was a Tile Finisher for Avalon Tile for 38 years. He was a member of Local #7 and Tile Finisher Union #77. Tony served as a Forest Firefighter for section C for many years.

His true passion was the great outdoors. You could find Tony fishing, hunting, crabbing, catching snapping turtles, gathering huckleberries, working in his garden or cooking one of his famous meals for his family, friends and co-workers. His nickname on his boat and CB handle was the "Outlaw". Tony and Dottie loved to go to yard sales and had many of their own where they sold the furniture he refinished.

He was a mentor to the younger generation and a 2nd father to many. As well as kindhearted, very generous and a hard working individual.

Tony is predeceased by his wife, Dorothy "Dottie" (nee Regn) Puleo and his parents Anthony Puleo and Frances (nee Pistone) DiLorenzo (Marco), and one brother Joseph Puleo (Margaret).

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Puleo (Frank Vitagliano) (his children and grandchildren) and his sister Marie Howjowski (Robert). He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Sunday from 6:00 - 7:30pm and Monday morning from 9:00 - 9:30am at Marinella Funeral Home 102 N Third St. Hammonton, NJ 08037. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday 10:00am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish-St. Anthony Church, 285 Rt. 206, Hammonton, NJ. Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery, 124 S. 1st Road, Hammonton, NJ 08037.
