Viola ( nee Barnabei ) age 93 of Hammonton, NJ passed away Sunday Feb. 2, 2014 at home. Born in Bridgewater, MA she lived in Hammonton for the past 70 years.
Viola was a former Girl Scout leader and Treasurer for the South Jersey Pine and Hammonton Branches. She was awarded the Outstanding Service Award in 1994 and was the Cookie Coordinator for over 15 years. The Hammonton Lions Club awarded her the Citizen of the Year in 1995. She was also a member of the Hammonton Senior Citizens, Hammonton Republican Club and the St. Rita Society of St. Joseph Church. Predeceased by her husband Nunzio. Surviving are her children, Frank Curcio and his wife Ellen of Braddock, NJ, Edward Curcio of Marlton, NJ, David Curcio of Absecon, NJ and Linda Curcio and her husband Christopher Von Nagy of Reno, NV. Dear sister of Albert Barnabei, Julia Spinelli, and Margaret Jacobson. Loving grandmother of 11 and 9 Great Grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Friday eve. 6:00pm - 9:00pm at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. 3rd St. Hammonton, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 10:00am St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish - St. Joseph Church 3rd & French Streets Hammonton, NJ. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 124 S. First Rd. Hammonton, NJ. Donations may be made to Girl Scouts of the South Jersey Pines 2944 Victoria Ave. Newfield, NJ 08344.
