Azzara, Phyllis, Walters (nee Presti) passed away peacefully after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer on January 31. Predeceased by her parents, Susan and Paul Presti, Phyllis grew up in Hammonton where she attended both St. Joseph's Elementary and St. Joseph's High School. Known for her beautiful smile and amiable personality, she was a devoted employee at Olivo's Market. Trained in banking operations, she worked for twenty years in both New Jersey and Florida, retiring as a customer service representative. A warm, loving person, the center of Phyllis's life was her family to whom she was devoted. She loved to cook and bake and treasured family holiday gatherings for which she often made traditional dishes and special desserts. Predeceased by her two husbands Victor Walters (1973) and Anthony Azzara (2006), she is survived by her children: Victor Walters (Donna) and Kim Walters Danks; step-children: Cathie Azzara Leeman (Harold), and Paul Azzara; grand-children: Victor Walters (Jennifer), Jason and Eric Walters, Brandi Schank (John Miller, fianc), Lindsay and Sarah Jane Danks, and her great-grandchildren: Logan, Zachary, Caleb and Meadow Walters; sister, Anna Morano, brother-in-law, Daniel Walters (Maria), sister-in-law, Marguerite Craig, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends, and her faithful Chihuahua, Chi-Chi. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Saturday February 4,10:00am - 11:00am with services 11:00am at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. 3rd St. Hammonton, NJ. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 124 S. First Rd. Hammonton, NJ. Donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
