Nicholas G. Polito age 80 of Hammonton, passed away July 10, 2009 at Virtua Hospital in Berlin. Born in Jersey City, NJ he was an area resident for the past 20 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII and a graduate of Rutgers University. He served in the New Jersey State Police from 1954-1979. Surviving are his wife of 41 years Jean (nee Monopoli) of Hammonton, son Nicholas and his wife Erica of Hammonton. His daughters Elizabeth and her husband Francis Bal of Jackson and Kathryn Cornforth of Berlin. Two sisters Joann Noon and Nina Jindella and sister in law Carol Polito. Loving grandfather of Lori (Frank) LaTorre, Francis(Paula) Bal, Steven, Joseph and Kathryn Cornforth and Anthony Polito. Loving great-grandfather of Antonio, Francesco, Isabella, Francis and Jessica. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday 6-9pm, Tues 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third St. Hammonton. Mass of Christian Burial Wed.10:00am at St. Joseph Church Third & French Sts. Hammonton. Burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hammonton. ( www.marinellafuneralhome.com)
