Melvin E. Scates

Melvin E. Scates age 77 of Hammonton, passed away May 14, 2009 at his residence. Born in Hammonton, he was a resident all his life. Melvin was a self- employed master carpenter and enjoyed building things. He loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Army National Guard. Surviving are his wife Ruth , his son Elliott of Berlin, daughters Linda Esau of Buena Vista Twp and Deborah Rice of Egg Harbor Twp., step-daughters Donna (Mike) Deloison of Collings Lakes, Deborah (Mark) Buker of Williamstown and Lisa Zirkel of Marlton. Brother to William Scates of Mays Landing and Shirley Capoferri of Clementon. Loving grandfather of 13 and great-grandfather of 3. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday May 18, 2009 from 4:00pm-6:00pm with services at 6:00pm at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third St. Hammonton.
