Marjorie Helen (McKenzie) Teufel - 90 years old
Mom went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 7, 2011 with her family by her side. She is predeceased by her husband, Bill and her parents Helen (Deady) and George McKenzie.
Wonderful and caring Mother and Mother-in-Law to Billy, Cathy and Tim Hilferty and Timothy Shawn and Valerie Teufel and devoted "MeMe" to Jessie(Hilferty) and Douglas Scholder, Timothy Hilferty, Shawn, Kenley, Kelly, and Amber Grace Teufel and great-grandchildren Evan and Nolan Scholder . A special thank you to her caring companions Roxanne Shreaves and Monica Pakenham for giving her countless hours of love and attention.
Mom was born in Port Chester, NY on November 9, 1920 and spent most of her younger years living on Church Street in Byram, CT.
She attended New Lebanon School and graduated from Greenwich High School in 1938.
Our Mom was such a compassionate person and always gave her heart and time to others in need. Many holiday dinners were shared with people that had nowhere else to go. They were always welcome in our home. Because with Mom it was always about family and helping other people, please plan an act of kindness for a family member, friend, stranger or someone you know that is in need or perhaps is just alone and could use some company. Because she loved children, in lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to St. Jude's Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Town of Greenwich Recreation Department, Greenwich, CT 06830 to help with the maintenance of Pemberwick Field in Byram where our family spent countless hours enjoying the park and playing sports.
A celebration of Mom's life will take place at St. Mary's Church, 178 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich C T on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 11:30am. Burial St. Mary's Cemetery 399 North St. Greenwich C T.
