Joseph J. age 87 of Blue Anchor, NJ passed away Tuesday Oct. 18, 2016 at Virtua Hospital in Marlton, NJ. Born and raised in Blue Anchor, he graduated from Lower Camden County Regional High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal in the Korean War. He worked for the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union # 19. Joe was a member of Bowling League and the Berlin V.F.W. Post # 625. Predeceased by his wife Jean Anna ( nee Frederico ), son Joseph J. Papa, Jr., parents Angelo and Rose, brother Frank and sisters, Rose, Mary, Julie, Millie, Frances, Carmella and Anna. Surviving are his children, Dominic Papa ( Carolynn ) of East Berlin, PA, Linda Friedley ( Scott ) of Hammonton, NJ, Sharon Papa - LaSasso of Hammonton, NJ, Annmarie Papa of Grand Rapids, MI, brother, Dominic Maiese of Winslow Twp. NJ, and sister in- laws Inez and Harriet Frederico of Blue Anchor, NJ. Loving grandfather of Dominic A. Papa ( Jennifer ), Jason Friedley ( Sarah ), Kimberly Papa - Smith ( Shane ), JoAnna LaSasso, Kevin Friedley and Emily LaSasso. Great Grandfather of Annalyn, A.J. and Alice. Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Sunday eve. from 7:00pm - 9:00pm and Monday 8:30am - 9:30am all at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. 3rd St. Hammonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday 10:00am St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish - St. Anthony of Padua Church 285 Rt. 206 Hammonton, NJ. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery 500 N.
