Joan E. Olive

Joan E. Olive (nee Salerno) 81 - Hammonton, NJ passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones on November 7th. She was born in Hammonton where she resided her entire life. After graduating high school, she married Matthew J. Olive in 1952 and had two children, Cindy and Matthew. She was employed by Bell Telephone and retired after a career that spanned 37 years. Joan was known for her love of cooking and baking which she did frequently for her family and friends. Her home was a welcome place, where people gathered to talk, play cards, and enjoy her latest culinary creations. "The more the merrier" -she was known to say. Joan was a supportive mother and grandmother, attending sporting events, school plays, special ceremonies, etc. She spent summers at her home in Sea Isle City, NJ, where she enjoyed the company of her sisters (Jean Jones, Ann Graf), children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. In the winter months, she spent much of her free time with lifelong friend, Ann Mortellite. She also spent most of her mornings dining at Mary's Luncheonette. She loved shopping for Christmas, birthday, and "just because" gifts for her family and was an avid Phillies fan. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly. Joan was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Matthew, and is survived by her two children, Matt(Patty) and Cindy(Mike) Corrado, both of Hammonton, and her five grandchildren, Olivia and Averi Olive and Michael, Amanda, and Carly Corrado. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Sunday eve. 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. 3rd St. Hammonton, NJ and Monday 9:30am-10:30am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish - St. Joseph
Church 3rd. and French St. Hammonton, NJ followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11:00am. Burial in Greenmount Cemetery S. First Rd. Hammonton, NJ.
