Jackson R. "Jack" age 82 of Folsom, NJ passed away Wed. October 22, 2014 at his home. Born in Hammonton, NJ, Jack graduated from Hammonton High School in 1949 and received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Ohio State University. He worked for Abbott Laboratories for 34 years, retiring in 1997. Jack was a former member of the Folsom Board of Education for 9 years, the Folsom Planning Board from 1969 - 2010, the Folsom Environmental Commission, the Folsom Republican Club and the PA Nut Grower's Association. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War and was a member of the Hammonton American Legion F. A. Funston Post # 186 and the V.F.W. Passalaqua Post # 1026. He served as an usher for St. Joseph Church for many years. His passions were his family and friends, the outdoors, trees and plants, and his beloved yard and pine forest. Predeceased by his parents Philip and Katherine Anastasia and sister Josephine. Beloved husband of Marie (nee Micklasavage ). Devoted father of Maria K. Anastasia of Edison, NJ. Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Sunday 6:00pm - 8:00pm and Monday from 8:30am - 9:30am at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. 3rd St. Hammonton, NJ. Mass Monday 10:00am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish - St. Joseph Church 3rd & French Sts. Hammonton, NJ. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 124 S. First Rd. Hammonton, NJ. www.marinellafuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity or to Samaritan Hospice or any veteran-related charity.
