George J. Nelson

George J. Nelson Sr. of Atco, NJ passed away on Monday, August 23rd at Virtua Hospital in Berlin, NJ.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday at 10AM with service at 11AM in the Marinella Funeral Home 102 Third St. Hammonton. Burial will immediately follow the service at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pa on September 17, 1925. He grew up in Blue Anchor and went on to serve in the United States Army. After his return from the Army he married Marjorie Ritchie and settled in Cedar Brook. He moved to Atco where he spent the remainder of his life. He retired from the Atlantic City Electric Company after thirty years of service.
George loved the outdoors! His primary hobbies were gardening, fishing, and hunting. He was very active coaching his sons sporting teams. He always told a good story and was a very gentle, loving man. He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie and his three sons George, Gary, and Bruce daughters-in-law Carole, Karen, and Sherry; and five grandchildren Cindy, Tricia, April, Gary Jr., and Bruce Jr. and one great-grandchild Angel.
Arrangements are with the Marinella Funeral Home.
