George D. III, age 63 of Hammonton, passed away April 18, 2015 at The Fountains at Cedar Parke in Atco, NJ. George was born in Hammonton and a resident most of his life. He was a 1970 graduate of Hammonton High School, where he was a member of The National Honor Society, and a graduate of Newark College of Engineering where he was president of TKE Fraternity. George was employed by Adams, Rehmann and Heggan as a Civil Engineer, and most recently by the County of Atlantic as the Assistant County Engineer for over 15 years. George is predeceased by his parents George Jr. and Ernestine. Surviving are his children Matthew and Erica and their mother Karen Scardigli of Haddonfield, NJ. Dear brother of Gary McCaughey (Gloria Carbone) of Lexington, SC, Glenn McCaughey (Lucille) of Sarasota, Fl., Gail Mody (Sam) of Hammonton and Ginny Loomis of Hammonton. Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday 9:00am - 11:00am with services at 11:00am at the Marinella Funeral Home, 102 N. Third St. Hammonton. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, South Jersey Regional Office, 3 Eves Drive, Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053.
