Gaetano J. Matro

Gaetano (Jim) James Matro -74 of Hammonton, NJ passed away peacefully on March 10, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Son of Anna and James Matro, he was born in Elm, and lived his entire life in Hammonton. Jim attended St. Joseph School, and earned a Bachelor's of Science from Delaware Valley College and a Master's of Science from Rutgers University. He owned and operated Matro Family Farms his entire life. His passion was his 18 grandchildren, who he bragged about regularly. He spent countless hours cheering loudly from the sidelines of a variety of sporting events and sitting proudly in the audience of concerts and theater productions. He was an active member of Hammonton First and Hammonton's Zoning Board, where he served as Chairman for the last several years. He is survived by his wife, Marty (Doto), of 49 years, children Annmarie Long (Mike), Francine McCarty (Scott), Jimmy (Jean), Guy (Megan), Marcia Marble (Bill) and John (Robin), grandchildren Trevor, Connor, Parker, Sophia, Michael, Matt, Chris, Alyssa, Jake, Tony, Sam, Kyle, Will, Jack ,Wyatt Sarah, John and Charlotte and a sister Anna Marie Ingemi. His presence and wisdom will be greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday evening from 6:00pm until 9:00pm and Saturday morning from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third Street Hammonton, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 11:00am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish - St. Joseph's Parish 3rd & French Streets Hammonton, NJ. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery 500 N. White Horse Pike Hammonton, NJ. . In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made to St. Joseph's Annual Fund or St. Joseph's Elementary School.
