Esther M. ("Mary" aka "Grammy") (nee Cruz ) age 72 of Galloway, NJ and formerly of Parsippany, NJ passed away peacefully Monday December 26, 2016 at Acuity Specialty Hospital of New Jersey in Atlantic City with her loving family by her side. Mary would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, playing Pokemon and Candy Crush, and eating Gummy Bears to her heart's content. Music, laughter, and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious and you never gain an ounce. She left detailed instructions for her children and siblings to celebrate her mission here which has now been completed. Low adherence to this instruction will not be tolerated!
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, Debra Apgar (and significant other Johnny Roman) of Galloway, NJ; Lisa Valle (and husband Jack) of Parsippany, NJ; George Jay Hunter (and wife Kelly) of Brunswick, GA; and Christopher Hunter (and wife Jean) of Brunswick, GA; her loving grandchildren, Jason and Kristi Apgar; Tyler, Samantha, and Alana Valle; and Lillian Hunter; and in the lives of her siblings Juan Cruz of Tuckerton, NJ; Carmen Clark of Galloway, NJ; Maria Martinez of Hammonton, NJ; and Aida Purdy of Tuckerton, NJ; as well as a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Saturday, December 31, 2016 from 9:30 am - 11:00 am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish -- St. Joseph Church, 3rd & French Streets, Hammonton, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 11:00 am. At her request and in her honor, the family asks that attire of bright or pastel colors be worn in lieu of black. Burial will be private at a later date.
