Domenic A. Longo

LONGO,
Domenic A. age 93 of Hammonton, NJ passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Wednesday September 7, 2016. Born and raised in Hammonton, NJ he graduated from Hammonton High School class of 1940. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during the D-Day invasion landing on Utah Beach at Normandy and served under General George Patton at the Battle of the Bulge with the 6th Army. He started working at the Hammonton Post Office as a letter carrier and then retired as Postmaster after 4o years of service. Domenic enjoyed sports and was a long time Hammonton Little League Coach. He was a member of Hammonton Rotary and the American Legion Post #186.
Predeceased by his parents, Vito "Tony" and Pauline Longo, son, Dennis, granddaughter, Eva Longo, and sister, Grace Grasso. Surviving are his wifeMildred ( nee Husta ) and 2 sons, Jeffrey Longo, Sr. and his wife Nancy and Timothy Longo all of Hammonton, NJ. Loving grandfather of Jeffrey Longo, Jr. (Kelly ), Matthew Longo (Laura) and Kevin Longo. Great Grandfather of Brett, Emma, Sarah, Megan and Luke Longo. Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday 9:30am - 11:30am at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. 3rd St. Hammonton, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00pm at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish - St. Joseph Church 3rd & French Streets Hammonton, NJ. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 124 S. First Rd. Hammonton, NJ.
