Cynthia A. ( nee Curcio ) age 61 of Hammonton, NJ passed away suddenly Monday September 29, 2014. Born in Atlantic City, NJ and raised in Hammonton as a farmer's daughter on a peach farm in Rosedale. She graduated from Hammonton High School in 1971, attended Univ. of Penn. and obtained a double major from Richard Stockton College. Cindy began her teaching career at the Warren E. Sooy Elementary School in Hammonton in a Pre-K classroom and then taught First Grade for one year. However, her love was teaching Kindergarten. December would have been 25years. She was an active member of the Hammonton Education Foundation, Hammonton Republican Organizations and former member of the Altar Rosary Society of St. Joseph Church.
Predeceased by her parents Anthony "Turk" and Patricia Curcio. Surviving are her husband Gary W. Young Sr., son Michael Torrissi, Jr and his wife Katie of Hammonton, NJ and daughter Carianne P. Torrissi of Hammonton, NJ. 3 brothers Michael Curcio ( Lashelle ) of Hammonton, NJ, Anthony Curcio (Deb) of Blue Anchor, NJ and Robert Curcio ( Lisa ) of Hammonton, NJ. Loving grandmother of Sophia. Stepdaughter Julie A. McDonald (Husband Andrew) grandchildren Tommy H. McDonald & Emilie G. McDonald, Stepdaughter Amy M. Young. Grandchildren Gary W. Young III and Amber R. Young. Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Friday 6:00pm - 9:00pm and Saturday from 8:30am - 9:30am all at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. 3rd St. Hammonton, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 10:00am St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish - St. Joseph Church 3rd & French Streets Hammonton, NJ. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery 316 Henry/ Greenwood Dr. Blue Anchor, NJ.
