Anna E. Watson Capella

WATSON CAPELLA
Anna (nee Ranere) Watson Capella, 100, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, Aug. 16 at Spring Village of Galloway. Born and raised in Hammonton, she was honored in 2014 as one of the town's oldest living residents. Anna retired from Whitehall Laboratories in 1980. She later worked at JC Penney at the Hamilton Mall and Wal-Mart of Hammonton. Previously, she worked for Steck's Bakery and Ideal Clothing Store. She was one of the first employees hired by Whitehall. She was honored by JC Penney for being one of the company's oldest employees. Always dressed to the nines, Anna had a love for life and enjoyed caring for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. For decades, Anna provided a water station for participants in the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Procession as they passed her longtime home on Fairview Avenue. Anna enjoyed cooking and needlepoint. She was predeceased by her husband Milton E. "Pope" Watson, second husband John Capella, son Charles M. Watson Sr., and sister Marie (Anthony "Tooty") Rice. She is survived by her son M. Mark Watson (Judith) of Delray Beach, FL; daughters Karen Cappuccio DeMarchi (Ron) of Northfield and Patricia Wagner of Hammonton; daughter-in-law Roslyn Watson of Hammonton; sister Helen Gay of Roanoke, VA. Loving grandmother of Kimberly Cellini (John), Charles Watson, Christopher Wagner, Michele Donio (Robert), Elliot Cappuccio (Amy), Sam Evans Cappuccio (Marilee), Susan Leiser (Mark), Alison Sullivan (John), Blair Cappuccio (Jason) and Monica Kemp (Jason). Great grandmother of 18. Stepdaughters JoAnne Aach (Jerry), Dottie Grasso (Frank) and step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, August 22 at St. Joseph's Church, French and Third streets, Hammonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11a.m. Arrangements are by Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. 3rd St. Hammonton, NJ 08037.
