Andrew G. Berenato , age 80 of Hammonton, passed away Monday January 25, 2010 at his residence. Born in Hammonton, he was a resident his entire life. He was a 1947 graduate of Hammonton High School and a member of the Army National Guard. He was the past president of M.L. Ruberton Construction. Andy was a member and officer of Hammonton Vol. Fire Co. #1, Hammonton Rescue Squad, Hammonton Kiwanis Club, Atlantic County Utilities Authority and CMR, an affiliation of Kessler Memorial Foundation and a member of the board of directors of Atlantic Community College. He was a board member of First Federal Savings and Loan. He served on town council from 1980-87, where he was deputy mayor. Andy is predeceased by his parents George and Rose Berenato and his son George III. Surviving are his wife Dorothy (nee Ruberton), his children Elizabeth Pitale, Andrew and his wife Andrea and Richard Berenato. Brother of Marie Romano. Loving grandfather of Charles, Michael and Lauren Pitale, Andrew G. III, Alexander, Briana and Daria Berenato and great-grandfather of Lucas Pitale. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday eve. 6:30-9pm and Friday 9-10 am at St. Martin de Porres Church Egg Harbor Rd and Park Ave. Hammonton. Mass of Christian Burial Friday 10:00am at the church. Entombment will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
